Painting the Hudson Valley, together

The Hudson Valley is where American landscape painting began. Its 19th-century painters were driven by ideas of progress and of mastering nature. The artists in Unframed come to the landscape differently.

For three years the eight painters have met every week to work outdoors, through every season. The work in this exhibition comes out of that shared plein air practice, which has fed each artist's own studio work in ways none of them expected.
