Michelle Marozik

Biography

Michelle Marozik received her BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore and an MFA through Rosary College's program in Florence, Italy. According to a 2013 Creative Time Reports profile, her work had by then entered private collections in Europe and the United States. In 2011 she began Billionaires and Politicians, an ongoing series of drawings that pairs American elected officials with the wealthy donors who fund their campaigns, as a way of looking at how money shapes public policy.

Creative Time Reports published an installment of the series, on Senator Rand Paul, in 2013, and the project continues on Instagram under its own name. Alongside that research-driven drawing, Marozik is part of a group that meets weekly in all seasons to paint together, and in September 2026 she helped install Unframed at Holland Tunnel Revisited in Newburgh, which gathers three years of work from those sessions. She also spoke about the exhibition with fellow participant Paul Chidester in a video interview for NBNY Art Seen.
