Holland Tunnel Gallery, Paros is pleased to present Phenomenon, the 2010
summer exhibition with 20 international and Greek artists. Phenomenon is defined as a highly
exceptional or inexplicable fact or occurrence; something extraordinary that can be observed. It is taken from the Greek word "to appear."
New York-based Dutch gallery director Paulien Lethen, an artist herself, started the
summer extension of her Holland Tunnel Gallery in New York in 2000. She chooses classical
themes from Greek mythology and philosophy for each exhibition, and invites artists to reflect on these themes and make special works for the exhibitions.
Participating artists 2010: Angiola Churchill, Susan Daboll, Fran Kornfeld, Claudia Lazzarini, Paulien Lethen, Richard Lethen, Alexandra Limpert, Jos Looise, Bix Lye, Robert C. Morgan, Jan Mulder, Jan Nijland, Jacques Roch, Tony Roch, Heleen Schuttevaêr, Daniel Vernola, Alice Meyer Wallace, Thornton Willis & Apostolis Zolotakis.
Holland Tunnel lies somewhat hidden behind the Aghios Triada Church in the Market Street
of Paroikia. Many art and jazz lovers find their way to the exhibitions and informal concerts with Greek and international guest musicians. Both floors of the 17th century merchant's house supply the setting for art and music.
